AI Engineer

Full-time

Remote

The Role

You'll build AI tools and automations that make Stubb and our clients faster and smarter. Not AI for the sake of AI — AI that actually solves problems and ships.

This role is part engineer, part product thinker. You'll identify where AI can help (internally and for clients), prototype quickly, and build things that work. We're not looking for someone who wants to talk about AI at conferences. We're looking for someone who wants to build.

You'll have a lot of freedom. We know what problems we're trying to solve, but we don't always know what the solutions look like. That's your job to figure out.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Build internal tools that make our team more efficient — research, reporting, content workflows, whatever needs automating

  • Develop AI-powered solutions for clients — custom tools, workflows, integrations that create real value

  • Prototype fast — messy first versions that prove the concept, then refine

  • Stay on top of what's actually useful — new models, new tools, separating hype from reality

  • Work with strategists to identify opportunities — where can AI actually move the needle?

  • Document and systematize what you build — so others can use it, not just you

Who You Are

You ship things. You'd rather have something working than something perfect. You build v1 fast, learn, and iterate.

You're curious about the problem, not just the tech. You ask what we're trying to achieve before you start building. You understand that the best solution might not be the most complex one.

You're comfortable with ambiguity. We won't hand you a detailed spec. You'll need to figure out the right approach, not just execute a plan.

You can explain what you're building. To non-technical people. In simple terms. Without making them feel stupid.

You're self-motivated. No one will be looking over your shoulder. You manage your own time, set your own priorities, and deliver.

You're good at what you do. You've built AI tools before. You know the landscape — models, frameworks, limitations. You pick the right tool for the job.

What You Get

  • Real problems to solve — not theoretical projects, actual business needs

  • Freedom to experiment — try things, break things, learn things

  • No bureaucracy — you decide how to approach the work

  • Work with people who appreciate what you build — not "can you just make it do X"

  • Remote flexibility — work from wherever, whenever

  • A team that actually likes working together — and proves it

How to Apply

Tell us about something you've built with AI. What problem did it solve? What would you do differently? Links, demos, repos — whatever shows how you think.
